Raised in France and fluent in French, English, and Spanish, Axel’s global perspective has been shaped by his experiences living in London for 12 years, Tokyo for a year, and Sarasota for over a decade.

Bringing a 1920s Apartment Back to Its Golden Era

One of Axel’s notable projects is the Rose Hill East Apartments, a 1925 historic property in a historic district near downtown Venice, Florida. The building was initially designed to house the city’s working population, contributing to the area’s walkable and diverse community.

Recognizing its architectural and cultural significance, Axel meticulously restored the building’s heritage while transforming it into a vibrant living space. His efforts were featured in The Herald Tribune, highlighting his dedication to preserving history and enhancing communities.

Axel’s Investment Banking Career

Axel de Chevron Villette’s career in investment banking was marked by his specialization in trading exotic interest rate derivatives. He excelled in complex and competitive markets, generating significant profits for his employers across various market conditions. His expertise in quantitative finance, risk management, and market strategy allowed him to navigate volatility and seize strategic opportunities.

At Goldman Sachs in London, Axel spent three years as an Interest Rate and FX Options Trader, managing risk and providing liquidity across multiple currencies. He then joined Barclays Capital, where he played a key role in transforming the firm into a leading exotic interest rate house.

In 2007, he moved to Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he worked in London and Tokyo for six years. He managed European Interest Rate Exotics and traded a wide range of exotic products, consistently delivering strong results.

Axel’s Education

Axel holds a Master’s in Aerospace Engineering from ESTACA, one of France’s top engineering schools, where he graduated as valedictorian. In 2022, he earned a Master’s in Quantitative Finance from HEC Paris, graduating with first-class honors. He also holds a Baccalauréat in Sciences with Honors.

Axel’s Personal Life

Axel met his wife in Paris in 1999. Their partnership, built on adventure, creativity, and community, has flourished over the years. Married in 2005 in France’s Dordogne region, they have created a life that bridges cultures and continents. They are proud parents of two teenage children who hold dual citizenship.

His wife is a painter and entrepreneur, having founded a coffee shop as a hub for artists, musicians, and coffee enthusiasts. The coffee shop reflects her passion for supporting local artisans and fostering creativity.

Axel enjoys playing the piano and snowboarding whenever possible in his free time.
